Die American Library Association erließ 2005 eine Resolution (pdf) über freie Meinungsäußerung am Arbeitsplatz ("Workplace Speech"), die Teil der Policy on Library Personnel Practices ist: "Libraries should encourage discussion among library workers, including library administrators, of non-confidential professional and policy matters about the operation of the library and matters of public concern within the framework of applicable laws". - Hinweis aus der neuen Diskussionsliste stanleyk, "an uncensored discussion list for those who teach in library and information science education programs and those interested in issues relating to the education of librarians".
