"Today, there are very few job seekers aspiring to become librarians and fewer still are the number of schools willing to appoint these guardians of books. At least 21 schools in Fujairah do not feel the need to fill this position. Accordingly, the skills of scientific book research have deteriorated, and there is hardly anybody qualified to advise students on reading books outside the syllabus", schreibt Salah Al Deberky unter dem Titel "Librarians a dying breed in Fujairah" in der arabischen Zeitung Khaleej Times.
